Monthly Community Update from Sgt Richard SMART – February 2026

Hello, 

I am the St Michaels Team 2 sergeant for Coventry city centre.

I am writing to give you an update of recent activity carried out by your lower stoke and Spon end neighbourhood team. 

I am please to announce we have two dedicated neighbourhood officers for our area – 

Pc Adam TAYLOR – Spon end & the butts 

Pc Nina HADDON – Lower stoke 

Both officers are building up their contacts with local people and businesses to try to understand challenges and difficulties we can assist with and encourage you to share intelligence about crime in your areas. 

Over the last 6 weeks we have arrest 30 people. This has included arrests for burglary, 5 arrests for possession with intent to supply class A drugs, domestic abuse, criminal damage and harassment. 

We have received some really useful information from concerned members of the public around drug dealing which have allowed us to act upon that to identify offenders and target them. 

We have also been focused on anti social behaviour seizing a bike from a youth repeatedly causing ASB around the city centre. 

We continue to be out and about in the community carrying out street watch and paw patrols with members of our community, these really help us to understand current issues that local residents are facing and gives them the opportunity to discuss these with a dedicated neighbourhood officer or PCSO.
